As you’ll see, we have made some big changes to our website to include more information about the services we provide and the background to our business. All feedback is welcome at info@subtext.uk.com even if you don’t like the new look (we can take it!). We’ll be trying to keep the content fairly fresh and interesting, especially on our new blog page.

We’re also stepping up our call for DVD producers to include subtitles as standard on all of their new releases and we’d urge you to do the same. There has been great progress made in recent years, but the problem still exists. Your experience is probably much the same as ours:
You hear that a film or TV series is coming out on DVD, but when it’s released, none of the reviews make it clear whether or not there are subtitles on it. Then you see it on the shelf in a shop, but the cover doesn’t even mention subtitles. You take a chance and buy it anyway, get it home, shove it in the DVD player and...surprise, surprise, no subtitles.
Enough’s enough. This really shouldn’t even be an issue any more, so when it happens to you, complain - politely! You might be surprised how effective your letters can be.
